About Dark Struggles
Dark Struggles is a collection of various forms of poetry that depict struggles of people of color, aspirations, humor, and nuggets of knowledge. Dark Struggles is the first in a series of up coming poetry books, short stories and children books. All works are meant to entertain, uplift, engage and empower. As a retired military veteran, world traveler, scholar, and current educator many of life lessons and knowledge are shared in literary treasures.

Crabs in a bucket is the main poem of Dark Struggles. It was written to represent how minorities struggle in American society, struggle against each other, and the struggles within themselves. In my opinion, Blacks don't support each other as other races do. Other races come to America with far less and work together to help each other prosper.

It was written to talk about just a few of the amazing things about women of color to include African Americans and Latinas. I have been privileged to have loved both races and have been blessed by the experiences.
